⁶  I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:6 NASB

The important point is that it is the Lord who works as in verse 5.  Now from this verse the word God is used… in the English it is very strong

Verse 5 … As the Lord Gave opportunity (Active direct verb. God is in control)

Verse 6 …But God was causing the growth (God was causing the past growth)

Verse 7 …But God who causes the growth (It is God who causes all the growth)

As you can see it is God who is in control not any mere human being.  The Corinthians lost sight of the basics and put the Apostles and leaders on different pedestals. This caused disunity in the church and may I say it misplaced worship…
