Do you not know you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit?

¹⁶ Οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι ναὸς θεοῦ ἐστε καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ θεοῦ οἰκεῖ ἐν ὑμῖν;

¹⁶  Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 NASB

This is very interesting in that the naos (Temple) is in every believer… As I was writing on my other blog (that hasn’t come out yet on my other site).  The city states were very dependent on the temple and it was through their dependence that these states grew.  In the ancient world at the time and before Sargon around the area of Mesopotamia city states could see each other at a distance.  You had to go up to the temple to get closer to the divine… In that sense Jerusalem was the same.  Sadly, the Temple was destroyed by the Romans and Jews everywhere had to get used to the new reality.  We are blessed that Judaism survived and is still with us today.  Otherwise where might the Old Testament be?   It is by the grace of God that the Jews have survived to this day.  I enjoy being able to read the Hebrew text word by word… It is a beautiful thing that different cultures can bring joy to other cultures.
