1 Corinthians 4 verse 5

Verse 5

Let us move on to verse 5 which is really a summing up.  We need to learn to stop being so fast to judge others.  It is the Lord who is judge… Do you remember that verse where Jesus said;

“3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how [a]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.  “

Matthew 7:3-5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Our Lord Jesus said the above.  It is so easy to point the finger but let’s try not to do it too often.  Paul obviously listened to Jesus’ words.

Therefore, do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God. 1 Corinthians 4:5 NASB
