The Day of Pentecost
1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

I find this interesting that when Jesus was baptized the Holy Spirit came down as a dove.  Here the Holy Spirit takes on the form of tongues of Fire.

Is there a connection?  Yes, there is.   The connection is that the Dove represents all that is pure, and fire represents itself as a cleansing agent.    Isaiah’s commission shows this about the fire (Isaiah 6). Would you like to have your lips touched with a burning coal? Read the story you will get encouragement from it.
