23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 1 Corinthians 11:23
Paul had received the Gospel from the Lord and this was checked out by the Council in Jerusalem (Galatians 2). Obviously the Gospel includes Holy Communion as it is a major Sacrament. It has the correct time element too ‘the night he was betrayed’. In this night Jesus did take the bread and he broke it. I am assuming that this bread might have been unleavened bread as the timing of the Passover and the Eucharist are linked. Jesus is spoken as our pascal lamb… The sacrifice. In Egypt a lamb was sacrificed and the blood was put over the doorways. On that passover night the angel of death ‘passed over’ those houses and the firstborn were not slain. In Egypt the story was not the same… Many first born sons upto pharoah himself lost their firstborn in a Judgement from God.
